Fire Foe tubes are suitable for installation
in many diverse situations and areas where there is a possible
fire risk. Small enclosed spaces, rooms or compartments containing
power equipment, electrical or communications equipment, generators,
motors or batteries are all suitable areas to consider the installation
of a Fire Foe™ tube. Compartments and motor spaces on all
kinds of vehicles (heavy plant, mass transit, private automobiles)
may be suitable. The installation
instructions should be studied carefully to ascertain if
a particular space is likely to be OK. A Fire Foe™ tube
should not be installed in an area where the ambient temperature
is likely to exceed 175°F (80°C). The FF model tube
has US Coastguard approval for installation in unoccupied engine
compartments on recreational boats and certain other uninspected
vessels.
