What is a Fire Foe™ Tube?
Fire Foe™ is a self-contained, automatic fire extinguisher
designed to protect various sizes of enclosed and semi-enclosed
spaces from class B or C fires.
How is Fire Foe™ activated?
Fire Foe™ is automatically activated by a rise in temperature
in the protected space.
Does Fire Foe™ require a power source to activate?
Fire Foe™ does not require any mechanical or electrical
systems or batteries to activate. However if a system is fitted
with an optional pressure switch to activate ancilliary equipment
or remotely indicate discharge, the switch requires a 12v Dc
power source.
How do I maintain Fire Foe™?
Fire Foe is virtually maintenance free with no external moving
parts. It only requires regular visual checking of the integral
pressure gauge and check-weighing at 6 month intervals
What is the Extinguishing Agent used in Fire Foe™?
Fire Foe™ uses a unique gelled agent called Envirogel®
which becomes gaseous on discharge. Gases used are proprietary
halon replacement gases manufactured by Dupont. The gas element
carries in suspension an inert micro-powder which has the dual
benefits of reducing HF production and preventing re-ignition.
The gas/powder combination is more effective than halon replacement
gases used alone.
Is Envirogel® harmful to people, pets or wildlife?
When used in accordance with manufacturers instructions Envirogel®
will not harm people, pets or wildlife. It is approved by the
US EPA for use in occupied spaces and in residential operation.
Is Envirogel® damaging to machinery, electrical equipment
or instrumentation?
Envirogel® will not damage sensitive equipment. It has been
independently tested and proven to be non-corrosive and non-conductive.
It is necessary to clean the powder residue afterwards which
can easily be achieved by vacuum, airline or washing depending
on the situation.
